In this Rheema Crochet Fingerless Mittens you have to learn how to crochet Diamond Trellis Stitch first. 

This fingerless mittens laying flat finished measurement width is

4" x height 5.5"

Materials Needed

Hook: 5.50MM [US I- 9]

Yarn Weight: #4, Worsted yarn

Yarn Used: Red Heart yarn, 200 yards

Tapestry needle for weaving ends.


Terms Used

All terms are in USA terminology

Ch: Chain,  Sc: Single Crochet,  Dc: Double Crochet 

Bpsc: Back post single crochet

Fpdc: Front post double crochet,  Bpdc: Back post double crochet

Fptr2tog: Front Post Treble Crochet 2 Together


Gauge

2 inches square = 7 sts  x 2 rows of DC's 


Stitch Guide

Back post single crochet (bpsc): Insert hook from back to front to back around post of specified st and draw up a loop, yarn over and draw through 2 loops on hook. Bpsc just made.

Front Post Treble Crochet 2 Together (FPtr2tog): Sk dc round below, you will work in bpsc or fptr2tog below, YO your hook twice, sk current st backward, insert hook in previous bpsc post or fptr2tog below dc (from front to back to front again), YO and draw up a loop, (4 loops on hook), *YO the hook, draw through 2 loops*, repeat *to* once, (2 loops on hook), YO your hook twice, sk 3 bpsc or fptr2tog post, insert hook in next bpsc or fptr2tog, YO and draw up a loop, (5 loops on hook), repeat *to* twice, (3 loops on hook), YO and pull through all 3 loops on your hook. Fptr2tog just made.

Front post double crochet (fpdc): Yarn over, insert hook from front to back to front around post of specified st and draw up a loop, yarn over and draw through 2 loops on hook, yarn over and draw through remaining 2 loops on hook. Fpdc just made. For photo tutorial please click here.

Rheema Crochet Fingerless Mitten Instructions

Round 1: Ch 24, sl st in 1st st from hook to form a ring. Ch 1, sc in the same st and in each sts around (insert your hook at the back bump part of the chain to have a nicer look of your foundation chain). [24 sc]


Round 2: Ch 1, bpsc in the same st, bpsc in each of next sts around, sl st in 1st bpsc to join.


Round 3: Ch 3 (consider as 1st dc), dc in each sts around, sl sts in 1st dc to join. [24 dc]


Round 4: Ch 1, sc in the same st, sc in each of next 2 sts, fptr2tog, sk next st, *sc in next 3 sts, fptr2tog, sk next st, rep * around, sl st in 1st sc to join.


Round 5: Repeat round 3


Round 6: Ch 1, sc in the same st, fptr2tog, ch 3, fptr2tog, sk next 5 st, *sc in each of next 3 sts, fptr2tog, sk next st, rep * around, sc in each of next 2 sts, sl st in 1st sc to join.


Round 7-8: Repeat round 3-4


Round 9: Repeat round 3


Round 10: Ch 1, sc in the same st, fptr2tog, *sc in each of next 3 sts, fptr2tog, sk next st, rep * around, sc in each of next 2 sts, sl st in 1st sc to join.


Round 12: Repeat round 2.

Fasten Off.


Fingerless Edging

Round 1: Ch 3 (consider as 1st dc), dc in each of next sts around, sl st in 1st dc to join. [24 dc]


Round 2: Ch 2 (consider as 1st dc), fpdc in next st, (bpdc in next st, fpdc in next st) around, sl st in 1st dc to join.


Round 3: Ch 1, sc in the same st and in each sts around, sl st in 1st sc to join.

Fasten Off.


Thumb

Attach yarn in any open st, sc in each sts around, sl st in 1st sc to join. [8 sc]


Fasten Off.
