Single Crochet


This is one of the basic crochet stitches that beginner's should learn, a Single Stitch. Here is a photo tutorial to guide you in your crochet journey.

A single crochet stitch is one of the easiest stitches to master.

In an English book, you can read it like this ...... sc.


In an International book that uses symbols, you may read it like this or you may see it to be this way 

Single Crochet Instructions


Step 1: Make a foundation chain.



Step 2: Insert the hook through the two upper strands of the stitch to be worked (making three loops on the hook). 



Step 3: Catch the yarn again and draw it through the remaining two loop on the hook. One loop remains on the hook.



 One single crochet stitch made.
