Girlie's Crochet

This is a free crochet pattern for Phoebe Toddler Beanie with photo tutorial in each step.

This beanie is worked in round from top (crown) to down (ear).

Pattern is made out of hdc, dc and sc, an excellent pattern for beginners.

Finished beanie measurement is –

Height (crown to ear) 7”  x  Width (diameter) 8 1/2” , can fit a 1 - 3 y/o toddler.

Materials Needed

Hook: 4.00MM [US G-6]

Yarn: Love Knots yarn; Shade: 00099; approximately 85 meters ( 3 balls)


Terms Used

All terms are in USA terminology

Ch: Chain,  Sc: Single Crochet,  Dc: Double Crochet, 

Sl sl: Slip Stitch,  Sk: Skip


Gauge

2" = 8 sts x 4 Rows of DC

or

Pattern round 1 to round 8 is 5.5" diameter


Phoebe Toddler Beanie Instructions

Round 1: Magic crochet, ch 1, 10 hdc in magic crochet, end w/ sl st in 1st hdc to join.

Round 2: Ch 1, 2 hdc in the same st, 2 hdc in each of next st around, end w/ sl st in 1st hdc to join. [20 hdc]

Round 3: Ch 1, 2 hdc in the same st, hdc in next st, (2 hdc in next st, hdc in next st) around, end w/ sl st in 1st hdc to join. [30 hdc]

Round 4: Ch 1, hdc in the same st and in next st, 2 hdc in next st, [(hdc in next st) twice, 2 hdc in next st] around, end w/ sl st in 1st hdc to join. [40 hdc]

Round 5: Ch 1, hdc in the same st, 2 hdc in next st, [(hdc in next st) 3 times, 2 hdc in next st] around, (hdc in next st) twice, end w/ sl st in 1sthdc to join. [50 hdc]

Round 6: Ch 1, 2 hdc in the same st, (hdc in next st) 4 times, [2 hdc in next st, (hdc in next st) 4 times] around, (hdc in next st) twice, end w/ sl st in 1st hdc to join. [60  hdc]

Round 7: Ch 1, hdc in the same st, (hdc in next st) twice, 2 hdc in next st, [(hdc in next st) 5 times, 2 hdc in next st] 7 times, hdc in each of next remaining sts, end w/ sl st in 1st hdc to join. [68 hdc]

Round 8: Ch 1, hdc in the same st and in each st around, end w/ sl st in 1st hdc to join. [68 hdc]


Round 9: Ch 1, (sc, ch 3, 3dc) in the same st, sk next 3 sts, *(sc, ch 3, 3 dc) in next st, sk next 3 sts, rep * around, end w/ sl st in 1st sc to join. [17 group of slanting dc]


Round 10: Sl st in each on next ch sp, ch 1, turn, (sc, ch 3, 3 dc) in the same ch sp, sk next 3 dc, *(sc, ch 3, 3 dc) in next 3 ch sp, sk next 3 dc, rep * around, end w/ sl st in 1st sc to join. [17 group of slanting dc]

Round 11-17: Repeat round  10

Fasten Off and weave in end.


You may add flower to your desire.
