Girlie's Crochet

A good friend of mine requested I create a toddler dress for her granddaughter. She gave me a picture and when I searched for the pattern, I did not see or find the pattern. 

Since I was unable to find a pattern, I decided to create this Crochet Square Motif to use to make her granddaughter a dress.

I will post the square motif 4 next week.


Materials Needed:

Hook: Stainless Hook 1 / 2.75 MM

Thread: Aunt Lydia’s Thread Classic #10 , Natural

 

Terms Used:

All terms are in USA terminology

Ch: Chain,  Sc: Single Crochet,  Dc: Double Crochet, Pc: Popcorn,  Cl: Cluster, Sl st: Slip Stitch, Sp: Space,  Sk: Skip

 

Stitch Guide:

Cluster:  (Yarn over, insert hook in specified st and draw up a loop, yarn over and draw through first 2 loops on hook) twice, yarn over and draw through all 3 loops. Cl made.

Dc2tog: (Yarn over the hook, draw up a loop in next dc, yarn over the hook, draw through first 2 loops on hook) 2 times, Yarn over the hook, draw through all 3 loops on hook: dc2-tog made.

Shell (sh): 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc in specified st


Gauge:

Finished square motif size 4”


Crochet Square Motif 3 Instructions:

Round 1: Ch 5, sl st in 5th ch from hook to form a ring. Ch1, 12 sc in the ring, end w/ sl st in 1st st to join.

Round 2: Ch 3, dc in the same st (Consider ch 3 and dc as 1st cl), ch 2, [cl in next sc, ch 2] around, end w/ sl st in 1st cl to join.


Round 3: Sl st in next 2 ch sp, ch 3 (consider as 1st dc), 7 dc in the the same sp, ch 3, sk next cl, sc in next 2 ch sp, ch 5, sk next cl, sc in next 2 ch sp, ch 3, sk next cl, [8 dc in next 2 ch sp, ch 3, sk next cl, sc in next 2 ch sp, ch 5, sk next cl, sc in next 2 ch sp, ch 3, sk next cl] around, end w/ sl st in 1st dc to join.


Round 4: Ch 3, dc in next dc (Consider ch 3 and dc as 1st dc2tog), [ch 2, dc2tog in next 2 dc] 3 times, ch 3, sc in next 3 ch sp, ch 5, sc in next 5 ch sp, ch 5, sc in next 3 ch sp, ch 3, *dc2tog in next 2 dc, [ch 2, dc2tog in next 2 dc] 3 times, ch 3, sc in next 3 ch sp, ch 5, sc in next 5 ch sp, ch 5, sc in next 3 ch sp, ch 3, rep * around, end w/ sl st in 1st dc2tog to join.


Round 5: Ch 1, sl st in next 2 ch sp and next cl and next 2 ch sp, ch 3, {dc, ch 2, 2 dc} in the same 2 ch sp, ch 3, sk next cl, sc in next cl, ch 5, sk next 3 ch sp, [sc in next 5 ch sp, ch 5] twice, sk next 3 ch sp, sc in next cl, ch 3, sk next cl, *sh in next 2 ch sp, ch 3, sk next cl, sc in next cl, ch 5, sk next 3 ch sp, [sc in next 5 ch sp, ch 5] twice, sk next 3 ch sp, sc in next cl, ch 3, sk next cl, rep * around, end w/ sl st in 1st sh to join. 


Round 6: Sl st in next dc and in 2 ch sp, ch 3, {dc, ch 2, 2 dc} in the same 2 ch sp, ch 3, sc in next 3 ch sp, ch 5, [sc in next 5 ch sp, ch 5] 3 times, sc in next 3 ch sp, ch 3, *sh over sh, ch 3, sc in next 3 ch sp, ch 5, [sc in next 5 ch sp, ch 5] 3 times, sc in next 3 ch sp, ch 3, rep * around, end w/ sl st in 1st sh to join. 

Round 7: Sl st in next dc and in 2 ch sp, ch 3, {dc, ch 2, 2 dc} in the same 2 ch sp, ch 3, sc in next 3 ch sp, ch 3, [sc in next 5 ch sp, ch 3] 4 times, sc in next 3 ch sp, ch 3, *sh over sh, ch 3, sc in next 3 ch sp, ch 3, [sc in next 5 ch sp, ch 3] 4 times, sc in next 3 ch sp, ch 3, rep * around, end w/ sl st in 1st sh to join.
