Cannon Coaster

Materials Needed:

Hook: US- 6  /  1.80 MM

Thread: Cannon Mercerized Cotton, 175 meter/ball, shade: SC026

1 ball (approximately 4 pcs coaster in 1 ball)


Terms Used:

All terms are in USA terminology

Ch: Chain,  Sc: Single Crochet,  Dc: Double Crochet, Sl st: Slip Stitch


Stitch Guide:

Dc2tog: (Yarn over the hook, draw up a loop in next dc, yarn over the hook, draw through first 2 loops on hook), skip next 2 dc or dc2tog, rep ( to ) once, yarn over the hook, draw through all 3 loops on hook: dc2tog made.

Sc2tog: Draw up a loop in next st, sk next dc2tog, draw up a loop in next st, yarn over the hook and draw through all 3 loops on hook: Sc2tog made.

Shell st (Sh):  2 dc , ch 1, 2 dc in specified st / sp


Cannon Coaster Instructions:

Round 1: Ch 4 (consider ch 3 as 1st dc here and throughout the pattern), 11 dc in 4th ch from hook, end w/ sl st in 1st dc to join. [12 dc] 

Round 2: Ch 3, dc in the same st, 2 dc in each of next st around, end w/ sl st in 1st dc to join. [24 dc]

Round 3: Ch 3, dc in the same st, dc in next st, (2 dc in next st, dc in next st) around, end w/ sl st in 1st dc to join. [36 dc]

Round 4: Ch 3, dc in next st, 2 dc in next st, (dc in each of next 2 sts, 2 dc in nex st) around, end w/ sl st in 1st dc to join. [48 dc]


Round 5: Ch 3, [dc, ch 1, 2 dc] in the same st, sk next 2 sts, (sh in next st, sk next 2 sts) around, end w/ sl st in 1st dc to join.


Round 6: Sl st in next dc and in ch 1 sp, ch 3, [dc, ch 1, 2 dc] in the same sp, dc2tog, (sh in next ch 1 sp, dc2tog) around, end w/ sl st in 1st dc to join.


Round 7: Sl st in next dc and in ch 1 sp, ch 3, [dc, ch 2, 2 dc] in the same sp, dc in next dc, dc2tog, dc in next dc, ([2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc] in next ch 1 sp, dc in next dc, dc2tog, dc in next dc) around, end w/ sl st in 1st dc to join.


Round 8: Ch 1, sc in the same st, sc in next st, [sc, ch 2, sc] in next ch 2 sp, sc in each of next 2 sts, sc2tog, (sc in each of next 2 sts, [sc, ch 2, sc] in next ch 2 sp, sc in each of next 2 sts, sc2tog) around, end w/ sl st in 1st sc to join.
