Free crochet pattern, audrey summer scarf

This is a free crochet pattern for Audrey Summer Scarf. A scarf in cotton thread with a big open stitches and skinny little pattern that you can wear during hot days or wear as an all-day accessory!


This Audrey Summer Scarf is crocheted in flat, start in the middle to other half, then back to the middle to finish off the other half, then continue to side edging.

Pattern stitch is multiple of 8 sts + 5 sts for turn.

The finished measurement of the scarf is 4.5" x 65"

Materials Needed:

Hook: F 3.75 MM

Thread: Aunt Lydia's Fashion Crochet Cotton Blue Hawaii , approximately 300 yards. (2 balls)


Terms Used:

All terms are in USA terminology

Ch: Chain,  Sc: Single CrochetDc: Double Crochet,  Sp: Space,  Sk: Skip


Stitch Guide:

Shell st (sh): 3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc in specified st / sp

V-st: dc, ch 3, dc in specified ch sp

Picot: Ch 3, sl st in top of specified dc.


Gauge:

2" square: 12 sts X 5 Rows of DC


Audrey Summer Scarf Instructions:

First Half

Row 1 (Right Side): Ch 29, Working in bumps on back of ch, 3 dc in 5th ch from hook (consider ch 3 as 1st dc here and throughout the pattern), *ch 1, sk next 7 ch, sh in next ch, rep * once, ch 1, sk next 7 ch, (3dc, ch 1, dc) in last ch.


Row 2: Ch 4, turn, dc in next ch sp, ch 4, sk next 3 dc, sc in next ch sp, *ch 4, v-st in next sh, ch 4, sc in next ch sp, rep * once, ch 4, sk next 3 dc, (dc, ch1, dc) in next ch sp.


Row 3: Ch 4, turn, 3 dc in next ch sp, *ch 1, sh in next v-st, rep * once, ch 1, (3 dc, ch 1, dc) in last ch sp.


Row 4: Repeat row 2 

Row 5-60: Repeat row 3 and row 2

Row 61 Edging: Ch 4, turn, 3 dc in next ch sp, *ch 1, (3 dc, picot, ch 1, 3 dc) in next v-st, rep * once, ch 1, (3 dc, ch 1, dc) in last ch sp.


Second Half

Row 1: With right side facing and working in opposite side of foundation ch, join yarn w/ ch 4 in last ch, 3 dc in the same st, *ch 1, sk next 7 ch, sh in next ch, rep * once, ch 1, sk next 7 ch, (3dc, ch 1, dc) in last ch.


Rows 2–61: Work as for First Half. Do not cut, continue to First side edging.


First Side Edging: Ch 1, turn the scarf to 90 degree, sc in the same st, ch 2, sc in the same dc post, *ch 2, sc in next dc post, rep * across, end w/ sc in corner dc st. Fasten Off.

Second Side Edging: Attach thread in other corner dc st, repeat first side edging. Fasten Off.


Weave in all ends.
