This is a free crochet pattern for Violy Beanie using fan and cluster stitch with photo tutorial in each step. 

This is crochet from bottom up and worked in round.

Finished beanie measurement: Height 7.5" ,  Diameter 21"


Materials Needed

Hook: US-I  9 /  5.50MM

Yarn: Red Heart Super Saver in Cherry Red 171 yards

Tapestry Needle for weaving ends

Violy Beanie Instructions

Foundation chain of 80, sl st in 1st ch to form a ring, be careful not to twist.

Round 1: Ch1, sc in the same st, ch1, sk next 4ch, 1stfan st in next st, ch1, sk next 4ch, *sc in next st, ch1, sk next 4ch, 1stfan st in next st, ch1, sk next 4ch, rep* around, end w/ sl st in 1st sc to join.


Round 2: Beg dc6-tog, ch3, (sc in next 1ch sp, ch1) twice, sc in next 1ch sp, ch3, *dc6-tog, ch3, (sc in next 1ch sp, ch1) twice, sc in next 1ch sp, ch3, rep* around, end by completing the beg dc6-tog to join.


Round 3: Ch4 (consider as 1st dc and ch1 sp), dc-ch1-dc-ch1-dc in the same st, ch1, sk next sc, sc in next sc, ch1, sk next sc, *1stfan st in next dc6-tog, ch1, sk next sc, sc in next sc, ch1, sk next sc, rep * around, (dc, ch1) twice in 1st st together w/ unfinished fan stitch, end w/ sl st in 1st dc to join.

Closing the Beanie


Use your tapestry needle. Insert the needle in inner loop of each stitch. Pull the yarn gently, turn the beanie to wrong side and weave in ends. Cut the excess yarn.

Violy Beanie Edging Instructions


Edging Round 1: Attach yarn in fan stitch, ch1, 2sc in the same st, *2sc in next 4ch sp, 2sc in next st, rep* around, end w/ sl st in 1st sc to join.


Edging Round 2: Ch1, sc in the same st and in each of next sts around, end w/ sl st in 1st sc to join.

Try the beanie if you think that this short for you, repeat round 2 once more or as your desired length.


Edging Last Round: Ch1, sc in prev st (reverse sc) and in each sts around, sl st in 1st sc to join. 

Fasten off and weave in ends.
