Eunice Summer Top

This is a free crochet pattern for Eunice Summer Top with photo tutorial in each step. This pattern is easy enough that even beginners can crochet having the basic knowledge of double crochet and picot stitch.

Girlie's Crochet

In my Eunice pattern series, together with my Eunice Scarf, here is another easy free pattern that you may wear this coming summer.

This Eunice Summer Top is crocheted in round from top to bottom, in 2 rounds repeat.

This summer top (adult) sizes available are for XS, (S/M, M/L, L/XL)

Finished measurements laying flat are

Width (body diameter)  - 16" (18", 20", 22")

Height (shoulder to hem) - 20.5" or you may repeat that 2 rounds according to your desired length.

The stitch I used in neckline is Multiple of 10, so you may adjust your own summer top if you use other materials.

For Kid's size (age 7-8 y/o) - start with ch130

Materials Needed:

Hook: 5.00MM [US H-8]

Yarn: Red Heart TLC, Powder Yellow, approximately 500 yds (1.5 balls)

For Kid's size (age 7-8 y/o) 

Hook: Stainless Steel 2.75MM

Thread: Any fine thread or #8 or #10 

Philippine Thread: Cannon Mercerized Cotton, SHD NO: MB082, 3 balls


Terms Used:

All terms are in USA terminology

Ch: Chain,  Sc: Single Crochet,  Dc: Double Crochet, Sp: Space,  Sk: Skip


Stitch Guide:

V-st: Dc, ch 1, dc in specified st.

Shell St (sh): 3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc in specified st.

Beg Shell (beg sh): Sl st in each of next 2 dc and in next 2 ch sp, ch 3 (consider as 1st dc), (2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in the same sp,

Picot: Ch 3, sl st in top of dc.


Gauge:

4 inches square = 15 sts x 7 Rows of Dc


Eunice Summer Top

Round 1: Ch 90 (110, 130, 150), sl st in 1st ch to form a ring, ch 4 (consider ch 3 as 1st dc), dc in the same st, ch 1, sk next ch, dc in next ch, ch 1, sk next 2 ch, v-st in next ch, ch 1, sk next 2 ch, dc in next ch, ch 1, sk next ch, *v-st in next ch, ch 1, sk next ch, dc in next ch, ch 1, sk next 2 ch, v-st in next ch, ch 1, sk next 2 ch, dc in next ch, ch 1, sk next ch, rep * around, end w/ sl st in 1st dc to join. [18 (22, 26, 30) v-st]


Round 2: Sl st in next ch sp, ch 1, (sc, ch 3, sc) in the same sp, ch 3, sk next ch sp, dc in next dc, ch 3, sk next ch sp, *(sc, ch 3, sc) in next v-st, ch 3, sk next ch sp, dc in next dc, ch 3, sk next ch sp, rep * around, end w/ sl st in 1st sc to join.

Edging:

Neckline Edging Round 1: Attach yarn in any v-st, ch 1, sc in the same st, sc in each of next sts around, end w/ sl st in 1st sc to join.

Neckline Edging Round 2: Ch 3 (consider as 1st dc), (dc, picot, 2 dc) in the same sc, sk next 4 sc, *(2 dc, picot, 2 dc) in next sc, sk next 4 sc, rep * around, end w/ sl st in 1st dc. Fasten Off.


Sleeve Edging Round 1: Attach yarn in the armpit right side 3 ch sp of sh, ch 1, (sc, ch 3, sc) in the same sp, ch 3, sk next 3 ch sp, dc in next dc, (sk next ch sp, dc in next dc) twice, ch 3, sk next 3 ch sp, *(sc, ch 3, sc) in next 2 ch sp, ch 3, sk next 3 dc, dc in next dc, (sk next ch sp, dc in next dc) twice, ch 3, sk next 3 dc, rep * around, end w/ sl st in 1st sc to join.
