This is a free crochet pattern for Crochet Christmas Bag with photo tutorial in each steps.

Notes:
This bag is crocheted from top to bottom, you will use sc across the bottom to close the bag. Then bag on top to work the handle.

Hook: 5.50MM [US I- 9]
Yarn: Red Heart Super Saver, Burgundy, 345 yards
Yarn Weight: #4 medium weight
Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
All terms are in USA terminology
Ch: Chain, Sc: Single Crochet, Dc: Double Crochet, Sl st: Slip Stitch, Sp: Space, Sk: Skip, Rem: Remaining WS: Wrong Side, RS: Right Side
Sc3tog: Draw up a loop in each of next 3 sts, yarn over the hook and draw through all 4 loops on hook: sc3tog made.
Round 1: Ch 104, sl st in 1st ch to form a ring, be careful not to twist, ch 3 (consider as 1st dc here and throughout the pattern), dc in next ch, ch 1, sk next 4 ch, [4 dc in next ch] twice, ch 1, sk next ch, *dc in each of next 3 ch, ch 1, sk next 4 ch, [4 dc in next ch] twice, ch 1, sk next ch, rep * around, dc in last ch rem, sl st in 1st dc to join.
Round 2: Ch 3, dc in next dc, dc in next 1 ch sp, ch 1, sk next 3 dc, [3 dc in next dc] twice, ch 1, sk next 3 dc, dc in next 1 ch sp, *dc in each of next 3 dc, dc in next 1 ch sp, ch 1, sk next 3 dc, [3 dc in next dc] twice, ch 1, sk next 3 dc, dc in next 1 ch sp, rep * around, dc in next dc, sl st in 1st dc to join.
Round 3: Ch 3, dc in each of next 2 dc, dc in next 1 ch sp, ch 1, sk next 2 dc, [2 dc in next dc] twice, ch 1, sk next 2 dc, dc in next 1 ch sp, *dc in each of next 5 dc, dc in next 1 ch sp, ch 1, sk next 2 dc, [2 dc in next dc] twice, ch 1, sk next 2 dc, dc in next 1 ch sp, rep * around, dc in next rem dc, sl st in 1st dc to join.
Round 4: Ch 3, dc in each of next 3 dc, dc in next 1 ch sp, ch 1, sk next dc, [dc in next dc] twice, ch 1, sk next dc, dc in next 1 ch sp, *dc in each of next 7 dc, dc in next 1 ch sp, ch 1, sk next dc, [dc in next dc] twice, ch 1, sk next dc, dc in next 1 ch sp, rep * around, dc in next rem dc, sl st in 1st dc to join.
Round 5: Ch 3, dc in next dc, ch 1, sk next 3 dc and 1 ch sp, [4 dc in next dc] twice, ch 1, sk next 1 ch sp and 3 dc, *dc in each of next 3 dc, ch 1, sk next 3 dc and 1 ch sp, [4 dc in next dc] twice, ch 1, sk next 1 ch sp and 3 dc, rep * around, dc next dc, sl st in 1st dc to join.
Round 6-20: Rep round 2 to round 5 but end it with round 4.
Now, you have to turn the bag into WS, leave at least twice the length of the bag on your yarn then cut. Use your tapestry needle to close the bottom of your bag.
Fasten off and weave in ends. Turn your bag into RS.
Round 1: Attach yarn on the upper side of the bag, in the 2nd dc of 3 dc set, ch 1, sc in the same st, sc in next dc, 4 sc in next 4 ch sp, [sc in next st] twice, 4 sc in next 4 ch sp, *sc in each of next dc, 4 sc in next 4 ch sp, [sc in next st] twice, 4 sc in next 4 ch sp, rep * around, sc in next dc, sl st in 1st sc to join.
Round 2: Ch 1, sc in the same st, sc in each of next 13 sc, *ch 60, sk next 25 sc*, sc in each of next 27 sc, re *to* once more, sc in each of next rem sc, sl st to join.
Round 3: Ch 1, sc in the same st, sc in each of next 12 sc, sc3tog in next 2 sc and next ch ( 1st corner), sc in each of next 58 ch, sc3tog in next ch and 2 sc ( 2nd corner), sc in each of next 23 sc, sc3tog in next 2 sc and next ch ( 3rd corner), sc in each of next 58 ch, sc3tog in next ch and 2 sc ( 4th corner), sc in each of next rem sc, sl st to join.
Round 4: Sl st in each sc around. Fasten off and weave in ends.
Round 1: Attach yarn in inner side of the bag as shown on the photo below, in 1st sc that parallel to 4 dc, ch 1, sc in the same st, 4 sc in next 4 ch sp, sc3tog in next 2 sc and next ch (1st corner), sc in each of next 58 ch, sc3tog in next ch and 2 sc ( 2nd corner), sc in each of next rem sc, sl st to join.
Round 2: Sl st in each sc around. Fasten off and weave in ends.
Option: You may put a string to your bag, just crochet sl st around but when you reach the middle part of the bag, ch 40, 2 dc in 3rd ch from hook, ch 3, sl st, in the same st, 2 dc, ch 3, sl st, in the same st, [ch 1, sk next ch, sl st in next ch] across the ch, sl st in the same sc, sl st in each of next rem sc. Fasten off and weave in ends.
