Easy Beach Bag
This is a free crochet pattern for an Easy Beach Bag with photo tutorial in each step. This easy Beach Bag is a great project for beginner's and it can be done in one day.
The unique shape adds versatility to this spacious yet slim profiled light bag which lets you stow all your beach essentials. Slim enough for easy carry but big on space for the important things you need for a comfortable outing.
Inspired by the Cover Up Skirt found here. Match with the Cover Up Skirt for a cool and fashionable crocheted look.
This is crocheted in round from bottom up.
Laying flat measurements is -
Width 12" x Height (from top of handle to bottom) 24"
The tutorial only shows one color, you are free to choose your own color combination.

Hook: US G / 6 - 4.00MM
Yarn - Any DK Weight yarn 200 grams ; your desired color
(local yarn - monaco 8 ply - 1 cone / 200 grams)
Stitch Guide
Shell St: 2 dc , ch 1, 2 dc in specified st.
V-st St: ch 1, 1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc, ch 1 in specified st.
Sc2-tog: Draw up a loop in each of next 2 sts, yarn over the hook and draw through all 3 loops on hook: Sc2tog made.
Gauge
2" square : 9 stitches : 4 rows (double crochet)

Shell Bag Instructions
Round 1: Magic crochet, 6 sc in magic crochet, end w/ sl st in 1 st sc to join.
Round 2: Ch1, 2sc in the same st, (2sc in next st) around, end w/ sl st in 1 st sc to join. ( 12 sc )
Round 3: Ch 1, sc in the same st, ch 2, dc in next sc, ch 2, *sc in next sc, ch 2, dc in next sc, ch 2, rep * around, end w/ sl st in 1st sc to join.
Round 4: Ch 4 (consider as 1st dc and 1 ch sp), 2 dc in the same st, sk next 2 ch sp, sc in next dc, sk next 2 ch sp, *shell st in next sc, sk next 2 ch sp, sc in next dc, sk next 2 ch sp, rep * around, dc in next st to complete the 1st shell, end w/sl st in 1st dc to join. (6 shell st)
Round 5: Note: In this round, we will learn here how to increase shell st. Ch 1, sc in the same st, v-st in next 1 ch sp, sc in next dc, sk next dc, shell st in next sc, *sk next dc, sc in next dc, v-st in next 1 ch sp, sc in next dc, sk next dc, shell st in next sc, rep * around, skip next dc, end w/ sl st in 1st sc to join.

Round 2: Ch 1, sc in the same st, sc in each st around. In handle, make a row of sc worked into the back loops of chains.
Round 3 - 4: Ch 1, sc in the same st, sc in each st around but having sc2-tog in each 4 corners of the handle.
Round 5: Sl st in next sts around.
Fasten off.
