Countless Foundation Chain

Another crochet techniques on how to crochet a countless foundation chain.

I have been crocheting since I was a kid. Year 2006 when I was started to crochet wearable clothes. I also love to crochet shawls as gifts to my family and friends.

Every time I start the project, what I hate the most is when I am counting the foundation chain.... haizzzt.

I always counted my foundation chain twice, but still when I am nearly finishing my second row, that's where I realize that I needed two more chain or it is was excess of two to five chain.

I stumbled across on the net on how to make a countless foundation chain without counting it twice or trice. Unfortunately, I forgot where I read it.

But I remember how to do it and I just wanted to share it with you guys...

I just finished my two front panel on this project.

For the back panel of the project I just make a long foundation chain. I measure the width of the front panel twice then add  another half of one front panel width. Then I will start to crochet the second row.

As you can see, it has excess chains.

This is how it looks when you have excess foundation chains.

All you have to do is count 3 chain from the last completed row then cut the excess chain as shown above.

Unravel the excess chain carefully. Tada! Now, you don't have to count for a long and tiring foundation chain, smile!
