This is a free crochet pattern for Lucy Diamond Scarf.


A tribute to the Beatles hit, Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds, the Lucy Diamond Scarf. A free and easy crochet pattern with a diamond design along the center. 

Size of finished project is 4 1/2"  x  68"

Materials Needed

Hook: 5.50MM [US I- 9]

Yarn: Worsted Weight Yarn / # 4 / Medium

Yarn Used: Loops & Threads Impeccable, Amethyst, 255 yards

All terms are in USA terminology

Ch: ChainSc: Single CrochetDc: Double Crochet, Sl st: Slip Stitch, Sp: Space,  Sk: Skip,  Rem: Remaining

 

Stitch Guide

Dc2tog: (Yarn over the hook, draw up a loop in next st, yarn over the hook, draw through first 2 loops on hook) twice, yarn over the hook, draw through all 3 loops on hook: dc2-tog made.

Dc3tog: (Yarn over the hook, draw up a loop in next st, yarn over the hook, draw through first 2 loops on hook) 3 times, yarn over the hook, draw through all 4 loops on hook: dc2-tog made.


Gauge

6 sts  x  3 rows of DC  = 2”


Lucy Diamond Scarf Instructions

Row 1: Ch 19, dc in 7th ch from hook (consider ch 3 as 1st dc, ch 1 as 1 ch sp), ch 1, sk next ch, dc in each of next 7 ch, ch 1, sk next ch, dc in next ch, ch 1, sk next ch, dc in last ch. 


Row 2: Ch 3 (consider as 1st dc), turn, dc in the same st, ch 1, sk next 1 ch sp, dc in next dc, ch 1, sk next 1 ch sp, dc2tog in next 2 dc, dc in each of next 3 dc, dc2tog in next 2 dc, ch 1, sk next 1 ch sp, dc in next dc,  ch 1, sk next 1 ch sp, 2 dc in last dc.


Row 3: Ch 3 (consider as 1st dc), turn, 2 dc in next dc, ch 1, sk next 1 ch sp, dc in next dc, ch 1, sk next 1 ch sp, dc2tog in next dc2tog and dc, dc in next dc, dc2tog in next dc and dc2tog, ch 1, sk next 1 ch sp, dc in next dc,  ch 1, sk next 1 ch sp, 2 dc in next dc, dc in last dc.


Row 4: Ch 3 (consider as 1st dc), turn, dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc, ch 1, sk next 1 ch sp, dc in next dc, ch 1, sk next 1 ch sp, dc3tog in next dc2tog and dc and dc2tog, ch 1, sk next 1 ch sp, dc in next dc,  ch 1, sk next 1 ch sp, 2 dc in next dc, dc in next dc,dc in last dc.

Row 6: Ch 3 (consider as 1st dc), turn, dc in next dc, dc2tog in next 2 dc, ch 1, sk next 1 ch sp, dc in next dc, ch 1, sk next 1 ch sp, 3 dc in next dc, ch 1, sk next 1 ch sp, dc in next dc, ch 1, sk next 1 ch sp, dc2tog in next 2 dc, dc in next dc, dc in last dc.  


Row 7: Ch 3 (consider as 1st dc), turn, dc2tog in next 2 dc, ch 1, sk next 1 ch sp, dc in next dc, ch 1, sk next 1 ch sp, 2 dc in next dc, dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc, ch 1, sk next 1 ch sp, dc in next dc, ch 1, sk next 1 ch sp, dc2tog in next 2 dc, dc in last dc.

Row 9: Ch 4 (consider as 1st dc and 1 ch sp), turn, dc in next dc, ch 1, sk next 1 ch sp, dc each of next 7 dc, ch 1, sk next 1 ch sp, dc in next dc, ch 1, sk next 1 ch sp, dc in last dc.  


Row 11-113: Rep row 2-9


Row 114 - Edging: End: Ch 3, turn, 2dc in the same st, sk next 1 ch sp, sl st in next 1 ch sp, 


ch 3, 2dc in the same sp, sk next 3 dc, sl st in next dc, ch 3, 2 dc in the same st, sk next 3 dc, sl st in next 1 ch sp, ch 3, 2 dc in the same sp, sl st in last dc (as shown below),


Side: ch 3, 2 dc in the same st, (sk next dc post, sl st in next dc post, ch 3, 2 dc in the same dc post) across. 


Repeat the instruction for edging end and side, end it w/ sl st in 1st st to join. Fasten off and weave in ends.
