Free Crochet Pattern, Jojo Reversible Beanie, hat for men

This is a free crochet pattern Jojo reversible beanie for men, it has photo tutorial in each step to guide on your crochet journey.

This is a round pattern from top ( crown ) to bottom. I used Front Post Double Crochet (FPDC) and Back Post Double Crochet (BPDC) stitches around. For beginners you may see this FPDC and BPDC first for stitches step-by-step photo tutorial.

The finished beanie size is 6.5"  x  22.5"


Stitch Guide

Front Post Double Crochet (FPDC): YO, insert your hook from front to back of specified post stitch, yarn over again then pull the hook around the post of specified st, you now have 3 loops on the hook, (yarn over and draw the yarn through the 2 loops on the hook) twice; Front Post Double Crochet made. For photo tutorial please click here.

Post Double Crochet (BPDC): YO, insert your hook from back to front of specified post stitch, yarn over again then pull the hook around the post of specified st, you now have 3 loops on the hook, (yarn over and draw the yarn through the 2 loops on the hook) twice; Post Double Crochet made. Beg FPdc: Ch1, insert your hook from back to front of specified post stitch, yarn over again then pull the hook around the post of specified st, you now have 2 loops on the hook, yarn over and draw the yarn through the 2 loops on the hook, ch1; Beg FPdc made.

Gauge

4” x  4”  =   12 sts  X  4 dc rows 

 

Terms Used

Ch: Chain

Sl St: Slip Stitch

Dc: Double Crochet

FPdc: Front Post Double Crochet

BPdc: Back Post Double Crochet

Sk: Skip


Material Needed

Hook: I / 9  -  5.50MM

Yarn: Red Heart Super Saver ; 178grams (97.9 yards)  of Hunter Green or your desired color

Tapestry Needle to weave ends


Jojo Reversible Beanie Instructions

Round 1: Ch 4 (consider 3 ch as 1st dc and 1 ch as foundation ch), 9dc in 4th ch from, end w/ sl st in 1st dc to join. (10 dc)


Round 2: Ch 3 (consider as 1st dc), dc in the same st, (2dc in each dc) around, end w/ sl st in 1st dc to join. (20 dc)


Round 3: Ch 3 (consider as 1st dc), 2dc in next dc, (dc in next dc, 2dc in next dc) around, end w/ sl st in 1st dc to join. (30 dc)


Round 4: Ch 3 (consider as 1st dc), dc in the same st, FPdc in next dc, (2dc in next dc, FPdc in next dc) around, end w/ sl st in 1st dc to join. (30 dc / 15 fpdc)


Round 5: Ch 3 (consider as 1st dc), dc in the same st, FPdc in next dc, FPdc in next fpdc, (2dc in next dc, FPdc in next dc, FPdc in next fpdc), around, end w/ sl st in 1st dc to join. (30 dc / 30 fpdc)


Round 6: Ch 3 (consider as 1st dc), dc in the same st, FPdc in next dc, (FPdc in next fpdc) twice, *2dc in next dc, FPdc in next dc, (FPdc in next fpdc) twice, rep * around, end w/ sl st in 1st dc to join. (30 dc / 45 fpdc)


Round 7: Sl st in next dc, Beg FPdc, (FPdc in next fpdc) 3 times, BPdc in next dc, *(FPdc in next fpdc) 4 times, BPdc in next dc, rep * around, end w/ sl st in 1st dc to join. (15 bpdc / 60 fpdc)


Round 8: Beg FPdc in the same st, (FPdc in next fpdc) 3 times, BPdc in next dc, *(FPdc in next fpdc) 4 times, BPdc in next dc, rep * around, end w/ sl st in 1st dc to join.


Round 9-25: Repeat Round 8


Round 26-27: Ch1, sc in the same st, (sc in next FPdc) 3 times, sk BPdc,    *(sc in next FPdc) 4 times, sk BPdc, rep * around, end w/ sl st in 1st dc to join. (60 sc)


Fasten Off and Weave in ends.
