Materials Needed:

Yarn Weight: Worsted yarn ; # 4

Yarn Used: Red Heart Super Saver /  Frosty Green  / 295 yards

Hook Size: 5.50 MM [ US - I / 9 ]


Terms Used:

All terms are in USA terminology

Ch: Chain,  Sc: Single Crochet,  Dc: Double Crochet, Sl st: Slip Stitch, Sp: Space,  Sk: Skip


Stitch Guide:

Puff Stitch:  Yarn over (yo), insert hook in next sc, yo, draw up a long loop, [yo, insert hook in the same st, yo, draw up a long loop] once more, (7  loops on hook), yo, draw up a loop through 6 loops on your hook, yo, draw up a loop through remaining 2 loops on hook to close. Puff Stitch made.

Gauge:

6 sts  x  3 rows of DC  = 2”


Elena Crochet Scarf Instructions:

Row 1: Ch 16, dc in 5th ch from hook (consider ch 3 as 1st dc), ch 2, sk next ch, sc in next ch, ch 2, sk next ch, dc in each of next 3 ch, ch 2, sk next ch, sc in next ch, ch2, sk next ch, dc in each of next 2 ch.


Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sc in the same st, sc in next dc, ch 2, sk next 2 ch sp, puff st in next sc, ch 2, sk next 2 ch sp, sc in each of next 3 dc, ch 2, sk next 2 ch sp, puff st in next sc, ch 2, sk next 2 ch sp, sc in each of next 2 dc.

Row 3: Ch 3 (consider as 1st dc here and throughout), turn, dc in next sc, ch 2, sk next 2 ch sp, sc in next puff, ch 2, sk next 2 ch sp, dc in each of next 3 dc, ch 2, sk next 2 ch sp, sc in next puff, ch 2, sk next 2 ch sp, dc in each of next 2 dc.


Row 4 - 156: Rep row 2-3


Row 157 (Edging): Ch 1, turn, 2 sc in the same st, sc in next dc, ch 2, sk next 2 ch sp, puff st in next sc, ch 2, sk next 2 ch sp, sc in each of next 3 dc, ch 2, sk next 2 ch sp, puff st in next sc, ch 2, sk next 2 ch sp, sc in dc, 2 sc in last dc, continue to side of the scarf, ch 3, sk next dc post, [sc in next sc post, ch 3, sk next dc post] across the sides, 2 sc in the corner, sc in next st, ch 2, sk next st, puff st in next st, ch 2, sk next st, sc in each of next 3 sts, ch 2, sk next st, puff st in next st, ch 2, sk next st, sc in st, 2 sc in last st, continue to side of the scarf, ch 3, sk next dc post, rep [ to ] once, sl st in 1st sc to join.
