The baby on the photo above is 2 weeks old.

This beanie is crocheted in round and from top (crown) down (ear).

Pattern is made out of dc and sc, an excellent pattern for beginners.

This Brianne Baby Beanie is inspired by my Phoebe Baby Beanie pattern.

Finished beanie measurement is –

Height (crown to ear) 5 1/2”  x  Width (diameter) 7” , can fit to a 0-3 months baby.

Easy


Materials Needed:

Hook: 5.00MM [US H-8]

Yarn Used: Caron Simply Soft, approx. 75 yards, Soft Pink or

Photo above: Baby wears Caron Soft Baby Bright Ombre


Terms Used:

All terms are in USA terminology

Ch: Chain,  Sc: Single Crochet,  Dc: Double Crochet,  Sh: Shell st


Stitch Guide:

V-st: (dc, ch 1, dc) in specified st.

Shell (sh): 7 dc in specified st.


Gauge:

4 inches square: 13 sc, 14 rows


Brianne Baby Beanie Instructions:

Round 1: Start with magic crochet, 9 sc in magic crochet, end w/ sl st in 1st sc to join.

Round 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in the same st, 2 sc in each of next st around, end w/ sl st in 1st sc to join. [18 sc]


Round 3: Ch 3 (consider as 1st dc, here and throughout the pattern), dc in the same st, 2 dc in each of next st around, end w/ sl st in 1st dc to join. [36 dc]


Round 4: Ch 1, sc in the same st, ch 1, sk next st, v-st in next st, ch 1, sk next st, *sc in next st, ch 1, sk next st, v-st in next st, ch 1, sk next st, rep * around, end w/ sl st in 1st sc to join. [9 v-st]


Round 5: Ch 3, 2 dc in the same st, sk next 1 ch sp, sc in next v-st, sk next 1 ch sp, *5 dc in next sc, sk next 1 ch sp, sc in next v-st, sk next 1 ch sp, rep * around, 2 dc in 1st sc to complete the 1st - 5 dc group, end w/ sl st in 1st dc to join. [9  groups of 5 dc]


Round 6: Ch 1, sc in the same st, sk next 2 dc, 5 dc in next sc, sk next 2 dc, *sc in next 2 dc, 5 dc in next sc, sk next 2 dc, rep * around, end w/ sl st in 1st sc to join.


Round 7-8: Ch 1, sc in the same st, sc in each of next st around, end w/ sl st in 1st sc to join. [54 sc]


Round 9: Ch 1, sc in the same st, sk next 2 sc, 5 dc in next sc, sk next 2 sc, *sc in next sc, sk next 2 sc, 5 dc in next sc, sk next 2 sc, rep * around, end w/ sl st in 1st sc to join.


Round 10: Ch 3, 2 dc in the same st, sk next 2 dc, sc in next dc, sk next 2 dc, *5 dc in next sc, sk next 2 dc, sc in next dc, sk next 2 dc, rep * around, 2 dc in 1st sc to complete the 1st set of 5 dc, end w/ sl st in 1st dc to join.


Round 11 - 15: Repeat round 6 - round 10


Round 16: Ch 1, sc in the same st, sk next 2 dc, sh in next sc, sk next 2 dc, *sc in next 2 dc, sh in next sc, sk next 2 dc, rep * around, end w/ sl st in 1st sc to join. [7 sh]
