This Bea Crop Top is an easy and free crochet pattern with photo tutorial. A perfect top for a casual outfit during those hot summer days.



This Bea Crop Top can fit to size S/M and L/XL.

Small: 34"; Medium:36" and Large: 38" ; Extra Large: 40"

This crop top is secured using ties around the body and the neck.

Instructions below are in size S/M only, for size L/XL please follow "Note" instructions below. When only one number is iven, it applies to all sizes.

Size S/M cup can fit to cup A, B, C

while in size L/XL cup can fit to cup C,D

My calculations for L/XL is not yet tested, so if you encountered any discrepancy on this size please Contact Us.

Materials Needed:

Stainless Hook: 1  /  2.75 MM and 00 / 3.50MM

Thread: Aunt Lydia’s Crochet Thread Classic #10; Light Peach;

For size S/M = 600-700 yds; 2 balls, two strands held together


Terms Used:

All terms are in USA terminology

Ch: ChainSc: Single CrochetDc: Double Crochet, 

Hdc: Half Double CrochetSl st: Slip Stitch, Rem: Remaining,  

Bet: Between


Gauge:

2" - 13 Stitches  x  2" - 6 Rows of Dc's

or

Pattern cup round 1 height is 2" 

Pattern cup round 1-4 wide is 2" 


Stitch Guide:

Dc-trc tog: Yarn over the hook, draw up a loop in next dc, yarn over the hook, draw through first 2 loops on hook, (yarn over the hook) twice, draw up a loop in next dc, yarn over the hook, (draw through first 2 loops on hook) twice, yarn over the hook, draw through all 3 loops on hook:

dc-trc tog made.

Dc2tog: (Yarn over the hook, draw up a loop in next dc, yarn over the hook, draw through first 2 loops on hook) 2 times, yarn over the hook, draw through all 3 loops on hook: dc2-tog made.

Bea Crop Top - Cup Instructions:

First Cup: use stainless hook 1 / 2.75MM

Row 1: Ch 17, dc in 5th ch from hook, dc in each sts across, in last st work 3dc-ch1-3dc, continue to other side, dc in each sts across. [32 dc]


Row 2: Ch 3 (consider as 1st dc), turn, dc in each sts across, 2dc-ch1-2dc in next 1ch sp, continue to other side, dc in each sts across. [36 dc]


Row 3: Repeat row 2, but this time having total of 40 dc.


Row 4: Repeat row 2, but this time having total of 44 dc.

Row 5: Repeat row 2, but this time having total of 48 dc.

Row 6: Repeat row 2, but this time having total of 52 dc.

Row 7: Repeat row 2, but this time having total of 56 dc.

Row 8: Repeat row 2, but this time having total of 60 dc.

Note for L and XL size:

Row 9-10: Please repeat row 2 


Row 9: Ch 3 (consider as 1st dc), turn, dc in each of next 9 sts, dc-trc tog. 

Row 10: Ch 2, turn, dc in each of next 10 sts. 


Row 11: Ch 3 (consider as 1st dc), turn, dc in each of next 7 sts, dc2tog.

Row 12: Ch 2, turn, dc in each of next 8 sts. 


Row 13: Ch 3 (consider as 1st dc), turn, dc in each of next 7 sts. [8 dc's]

Row 14 - 22: Repeat row 13 

Note for L and XL size:

Row 23-24: Repeat row 13


Second Cup: use stainless hook 1 / 2.75MM

Row 1-8: Repeat row 1-8 of first cup instructions, now we attach the other cup.

Ch 6, turn, drop the thread, insert hook on corner of first cup, grab the thread, ch 9,  drop the thread,


 in second cup, sk 2 dc, insert hook in next dc, grab the thread, ch 11, drop the thread,  sk 2 dc of previous cup, insert hook in next dc, grab the dropped thread, 


ch4, sk next 4 ch of 9 ch sp, sl st in next ch, ch 4, drop the thread, insert hook in corner of second cup, grab the thread, sl st, fasten off.


Row 9: On the other side of second cup, skip next 11 dc, attach thread in next dc, ch4, dc in each of next 11 dc.


Row 10: Ch 3 (consider as 1st dc), turn, dc in each of next 8 sts, dc2tog.

Row 11: Ch 2, turn, dc in each of next 9 sts. 


Row 12: Ch 3 (consider as 1st dc), turn, dc in each of next 6 sts, dc2tog. 

Row 13: Ch 3, turn, dc in each of next 7 sts. [8 dc's]


Row 14-22: Repeat row 13, do not cut off, and continue to upper cup - edging instructions.

Note for L and XL size:

Row 23-24: Repeat row 13

Upper Cup -Edging  Instructions:

Use stainless hook 1 / 2.75MM

Row 1: Ch 4 (3 ch consider as 1st dc and 1 ch consider as 1ch sp), sk next dc post, *3dc in next dc post, ch1, sk next dc post, rep * 6 times, 


3dc in next dc post, sk next dc of the cup, (3dc in next dc, sk next 2dc) 5 times, 


3dc in next dc, ch1, sk next dc, dc in next 1ch sp, ch1, sk next dc, (3dc in next dc, sk next 2dc) 8 times, 

Note for L and XL size:

3dc in next dc, ch1, sk next 3dc, 3dc in next 1ch sp, ch1, sk next 3dc, (3dc in next dc, sk next 2dc) 8 times, 


3dc in next dc, (sk next 3ch of 11ch sp,  3dc in next ch) twice, sk next 3ch rem of 11ch sp,


(3dc in next dc, sk next 2dc) 8 times, 3dc in next dc, ch1, sk next dc, dc in next 1ch sp, ch1, sk next dc, (3dc in next dc, sk next 2dc) 5 times, sk next dc,

Lower Part of Bea Crop Top Instructions:

The stitch I used in this lower part is in multiple of 20 sts plus 5 sts.

Instructions for L/XL are in "bold" letters

Use stainless hook 00 / 3.50MM

Row 1: Right Side facing you, attach thread in the corner, Ch1, *2sc in next dc post*, rep * across all dc post, 5sc in 6ch sp (middle), rep *to* across all dc post. [125 sc] [145sc]


Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sc in the same st, ch3 - 2dc in the same st, sk next 3sts, *sc - ch3 - 2dc in next st, sk next 3sts, rep * across, sc in last sc.

[ 31- 3dc sets] [ 37- 3dc sets] 


Row 3: Ch 1, turn, sc - ch3 - 2dc in the same st, sk next 2dc, *sc - ch3 - 2dc in next dc post, sk next 2dc, rep * across, sc - ch3 - 2dc in next dc post, sc in last sc. [ 32- 3dc sets] [ 38- 3dc sets]


Row 4: Ch 5 (ch2 consider as 1st hdc and ch3 as sp), turn, sk next 3dc, hdc in next sc, *ch3, sk next 3dc, hdc in next sc, rep * across.

[32 loops] [37 loops]

Fasten off.


On the other side of the body, attach thread in upper corner,

Row 3: Ch1, sc in the same st, ch 111, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc across the ch, sl st in top of sc, (ch3, sk next 3ch sp, sc in next sc) across.
